Sun room, Bathroom, Kitchen and Roof Terrace in Shoreham, West Sussex

Having recently completed a scheme located near Shoreham Beech, West Sussex. The scheme involved re-modeling of the existing ground floor to create a larger living space. The 1970s chalet style bungalow had limited space within the ground floor, the clients brief was to provide a larger living accommodation comprising of a kitchen, sun room, walk-in shower room with an extended bathroom and terrace overlooking the garden

Due to the location of the property near Shoreham Beech, particular attention had to be paid to the foundations. It was not possible to use strip foundations because of the movement of the shingle. Our engineer designed a raft foundation to compensate any movement and to spread the load

Some of the Existing internal walls were removed, opening the rear aspect of the property. A single story extension was added with additional windows and French doors overlooking the southern boundary. A sun terrace was created on the roof of the extension with access from the first floor, aluminium balustrades and handrails with glazed infill panels enclosed the roof terrace
